I have searched a whole year for Christmas Photos..they were few and far between this year.  I had to settle for Christmas Greetings.  This is a Real Photo Postcard.

Grandfather with new grandchild and daughter..most likely.

Best Christmas Wishes from the parties on the other side..from Mr. ( written in a different hand)   It is addressed to Mrs and Mr S. Gunderson City.

It was sent from Lake Mills, Iowa in December of 1911.  There used to be a stamp but someone removed it.. it is a Velox Real Photo Postcard..this particular postcard paper was used from 1907 to 1914.

Photo Number Sixty-Six

This is the last of my Holiday Photos..it will give me something to do over the next year..to look for more old Holiday Photos.  I have some that are winter scenes..we will get to them one of these days.
This is the Jim Albright Family..there are lots of Albrights down in the Frazee Minnesota area..my grandparents used to talk about their neighbors with the same last name.  I got this at the Antique Shop in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota..  I will have to remember to ask my Mother if she knows these people! I will date this photo as 1950 or 1951.

I call this one Lovingly, Ruthie.  It is probably from the late 1940's..Ruthie must have been off working someplace and could afford to send off her own Holiday Greeting.  I got this card from an Antique Shop in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

Photo Number Sixty-Two

I missed posting a photo yesterday..the day just slipped by..busy time of year!   This family however looks so relaxed!  I left this photo as is.. Merry Xmas 1943 was crossed out at the bottom of the photo .apparently this family was offended that Christmas was shortened..so they took a pencil or a pen and covered it up.. I would have done the same thing!  No one but the lady of the house is even looking at the camera...I did note a familiar framed print in the background.

I thought this was a fun photo..it looks like these gals..and two guys way in the back had a great Christmas Party.  I will guess that this photo is from the late 1940's or early 1950's.  What do you think? Were they all sales women in a department store?  Several have some really stylish (wild) hats??  The gal that played Mrs. Santa certainly looks like she is a fun person..there are tiny bells along the edge of her skirt.

" Lady with a package." This photo was enlarged..it says so on the back and it is stamped June 26, 1951.  So it must be a photograph prior to 1950.  Those earrings are something else!  She might have had one of those Toni or Lilt Home Permanent Waves done too!

Photo Number Fifty-Eight

Today I will begin sharing a few of the Christmas photographs that were in my box of photos.  I call this one "Boy with Santa"   This was probably some sort of promotional photograph..or perhaps it was one of the early Santa/Child photos.  Santa's suit was corduroy!

What I remember...from the 1950's..
 
In one of the nearby towns Santa was in one of the stores for a few Saturday afternoons just before Christmas..I do not recall that they took photographs, Santa handed out little tiny candy canes, I never sat on his lap either, I just stood there and rattled off my list while holding onto my brothers hand..when I was done I shoved him forward..if he didn't say anythng I told Santa what he wanted.  What do you remember?  Did you visit Santa with your list?
