It is a CdV or Cartes d’ visite. The bride is wearing a dark dress and a bonnet veil. Her dress appears to me to be one of those dresses that had a bustle. Possibly from the Natural Form Bustle period of 1877 to 1882. The gentleman has only the top button of his coat buttoned, so that would indicate late 1870’s to early 1880’s.

I have seen dresses similar to this one on the fashion plates from Goodey's. The bodice is long in the cuiarass shape and the skirts straight. I suspect this is about 1880 or 1881. It would be Natural Form, but there was no bustle. The Natural Form movement was ostensibly to show the natural shape of a woman and was considered scandalous by some. It rejected the artificial shape of the bustle. But with all the corsetry underneath, there was no way a woman's natural form would be seen, lol.
