Photo Number 411

Happy New Year Everyone!  Lets start the New Year out with a bang..well how about a old photo that includes a gun?

Kid with Gun Real Photo Postcard Dorset This is a NOKO Real Photo Postcard, they date from 1907 to 1920.  I have a photo of my Father in Law from 1916 where he is wearing similar knickers and coat and even his haircut is the same so that is the year I will pick to date this postcard. Apparently the gun was a studio prop to keep the child occupied, it also looks like this is a photo that was taken outdoors…someplace warm I would guess from the fan palms that are on the right side of the photo.

This is a photo from the Antique Shop in Dorset, Minnesota.

Photo Number 295

cc BVA Mother and Child

This is a cabinet card that I purchased from an Antique Shop over by Hackensack, Minnesota (Bonnie View Antiques).   The photographer was WH Culver,  he began his career in photography in the Judith Mountains near Maiden, Montana. In 1888 he moved into Lewistown, Montana.

I bought this photo because I like photo of Mothers and their children and this Mom has leather gloves on..I am not sure why..but she does.  This photo was most likely taken in 1890 to 1900.

Photo Number 188

The old tossing the baby into the air!  This was probably taken in the late 1920's or early 1930's.  There seems to be a Model T or a Model A in the background.  I do not know my cars.

Photo Number 187

This photo was processed on November 28, 1931.   The stamp that they used is smeared..or perhaps I could tell where the photo originated from.  I don't know, but this looks like a little boy to me..I love the way the Mom has crouched down in the grass to really show off this child..she was obviously very proud of him.

Photo Number 186

This is a Real Photo Postcard. An Azo which I can date at 1904 to 1918.  However I can further narrow that down to 1913 because someone wrote on the back.. Mary and Me 7 weeks taken in 1913.

I found this little treasure in a new to us Antique Shop located in Bemidji, Minnesota.  Aunt Ellie's Attic..the owner is a lovely lady who we had a very nice visit with..we will stop by there again one of these days.  It is always nice to frequent a shop where your business is appreciated:)

This is Evelyn and Colleen, Colleen was two months old and she weighed 11 pounds and 14 ounces.  This photo must have been taken in the 1940's sometime.

Photo Number 174

Mother and child, they look happy and relaxed.  This was probably taken sometime around 1910. It is not the best quality photo, and there is no photographs info.  This one is still from the original box of photos that I purchased from an Antique shop in Park Rapids, Minnesota.

Photo Number 156

I call this one..outside of Ma Morgans.   Sometimes you cannot see the forest for the trees. Anyway..back to the hats..these are Cloche hats..they were popular from 1908 to 1933.  Cloche is a French word for bell.  A proper Cloche hat covered the neck in the back and came to the eyebrows in the front.  I am not certain what to date this photo at..1930?

Ma Morgan's House
Now that I have discovered this house..it is in the background of several other old photos..If we ever locate the Morgan Family..I have a bunch more photos for them. They are not marked with names..just the same house. This house has been speaking to me all this time..I am paying attention now.
Thanks for stopping by, do come again.:)
Update: Kathy and Abra think that the first photo is from the 1920's..thanks gals for your input!

This photo must be from around 1915..it is one of the few photos where someone is smiling.  She does look beautifully happy!  It was taken at Madisons Studio in Antigo, Wisc
