Photo Number 260

This is Anna Dreis.  The photographer is Julius Tessman of Wadena, Minnesota, he only worked in Wadena in the year 1914.

I found an Anna Katherine Dreis that was born in 1878..who died in Hubbard County in 1960..very near Wadena.  The gal in the photo would have to be 36..I don't think she looks that old..do you?
I also found an Anna Marie Dreis that was born in 1897..that would make her 17, now that is more believable.
She is all dressed up, those sleeves on that blouse are really something.

The blouse style is lovely, and she has a pin locket or watch on too. Those sleeves are a pain to make. They are two part sleeves - one sleeve goes all the way up in a normal shape, then second part is the pouf which is sewn onto the normal sleeve. A good seamstress will put net or tulle inside the pouf so it will hold its shape.
